+++++ It is with heavy, heavy heart that we must bear the sad news of Dr. John Francis DeNitto, passing away on Friday, May 18, 2018 in Rhinebeck, NY. It is important to point out that my father was the last remaining member of the original Brasiles family, for which The Brasiles Ensemble gets its name. As he was adamant about not wanting a funeral or religious service, The Brasiles Ensemble compromised by having a mini-concert in a church, which was held on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Though a professor by career, he was first a highly accomplished musician and music led his life all the way through to his very last days. We felt that he would certainly not object to a lovely concert featuring the St. Philip’s Choir, The Brasiles Ensemble, The Mary Powell as well as his grandson, Speare Hodges at the piano. +++++

+ HELLO DOLLY 50th ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL: The Brasiles Ensemble will be part of the core group of singers performing for the festival parade set for Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 4:00pm at The Garrison Landing, which is the exact spot of the filming for the movie! We will be joined by a fun cast of professionals! The cast is as follow and is listed in order of appearance.

+ CD RECORDING: The Brasiles Ensemble has been having several business meetings to discuss opportunities to record a CD later this year. Though there will be some fundraising for such a project, we are working on how to make this happen! Stay tuned for more details to follow in the summer months.
